my favorite amazon products

I miss pre-COVID casual browsing and window shopping. I haven’t really gotten back to it. With a busy elementary student, tons of activities, and work, it’s just not in the cards right now. So even though it is not always my favorite shopping experience, Amazon serves a purpose and quite frankly has some really good deals.
I’m sharing my most favorite purchases. Things I’ve purchased from Amazon, that have lasted the test of time, are a good value, and in some cases, I’ve purchased again (such as in a different color). I am an Amazon affiliate, so anything you click on and buy brings me a small commission, which I truly appreciate. Hopefully, in return you’ll get some piece of mind that someone you know (or will know better if you start following me), is giving a real-life testimony about products I love. I have broken it up into two sections. I will keep adding more products as I test them out. I will also add a post on toys and kids

I love decorating and redecorating. I don’t love spending a lot of money where I don’t have to do it though. So being able to change out pillow covers, instead of buying new pillows is a great alternative. Sometimes I have time to make my own cases, but let’s be honest, we’re all busy and it’s not always an option.
These Chenille Soft Throw Pillow Covers come in a variety of colors. The first set I bought in December 2020, and unlike some of the other covers I purchased over the years, these have held up and not become sun-bleached. Since my living room is south-east facing, we get a lot of sun in the morning on those pillows. I love pillow covers because you can wash them, change them up for the season, and they don’t take up too much room in your linen closet if you’re not using them at the moment.
These down-feather pillow inserts are what I’ve been using for all my lovely covers and I just love them. They are soft, thick, and don’t break the bank.
We love this door weather stripping. We’ve bought it twice, but not because we love it THAT much, but because our cat tore it up while we were away on vacation. Works great on steel doors where you can’t screw in a traditional sweep.
I love these napkin rings. They have just enough bling, but don’t look cheesy. For Christmas I paired them with cotton napkins (take my word, use steam when you iron them!), and these cute Santa hat salt & pepper shakers.
As a wheelchair user, I can’t use a step on trashcan and didn’t design my new kitchen with built in trash. I was worried about garbage messes in the cabinets. We used to keep the trash in the cabinets under the sink, but since I added a farmhouse sink, there’s not enough room. The next best thing is this stainless steel trash can with touch-free sensor lid. I love it and the kids can’t stop throwing trash away because it’s so fun to play with it. Win win win!
I bought this outdoor light, which we mounted on a 2x4 covered with a light sleeve. I love the look of it and that it isn’t one of those clear driveway lights that lights up the entire neighborhood, so you can still see the stars.
For our renovated kitchen, I needed a new over the sink light. Keeping with the industrial farmhouse feel, I found this amazing pendant light with seeded glass shade. It provides beautiful light and looks great whether it is on or off.
I love these pouches. We started using them when P was little because I hated tossing all the plastic containers on the disposable yogurt and applesauce. Years later, we are still using them for yogurt, applesauce and our own smoothie recipes. We buy big containers of yogurt, or make our own, and blend in frozen fruit. These pouches are more earth friendly and a budget saver because you get the big containers of yogurt and applesauce.
For organizing my pantry, I absolutely love these storage containers. You can read more about how I organize on my post “Instantly Organize and Free Up Space”. The smaller containers (pic below) are great for the things like baking soda, powdered sugar, cornstarch, monk fruit sugar and other items I don’t use quite as often or as much. This set of 4 food storage containers (pic also below) holds 11lbs (each!). I love these and they make baking so much easier.
Bed and Bath
I don’t have any built in nooks in my bathroom, which I share with my 8 year old, so I added two of these awesome soap dishes to the tub area. They don’t get gross, look very nice, and were so easy to install!
I bought this quilt set for the summer and I love it so much I never take it off. In the winter I just throw the down duvet at the end of the bed for added warmth and texture. It’s light enough for the summer but a great extra blanket in the winter.
The quilt covers our beautiful platform bed (see pic below. Headboard is from Joss &Main). I love this bronze colored frame which our Tempur-Pedic mattress sits upon. It’s low profile, making it easy for me to transfer from the wheelchair into the bed without issue. The frame is high enough to tuck plenty of under=bed storage containers with off-season linens, toys, you name it!
Our main bathroom faces the patio and because we’re in a single story ranch, you could literally stare into the bathroom from outside. I needed a solution for privacy, but also allowing light into the bathroom. I don’t really love curtains in the bathroom, and when P was little, I didn’t want blinds with the pull cord, which is a risk for strangulation - especially when your kid is a climber, like P was when he was little. I found this static cling vinyl for windows (pic below). It was easy to install, looks great, let’s in plenty of light, but maintains privacy. It’s perfect!
